What is the meaning of humidity?
The air, which is all around us, is a compound of several gasses.
An essential part of the air is water vapour.
An important factor of the relation between water and air
is that the air constantly tries to take up water vapour until it is saturated.
This is the reason why air always retains a portion of humidity -
whether in the tropics or in a desert. .
How to identify dry air?
If the room air is too dry, you can feel it.
It begins with an irritation inside the nose,
shortly after the tongue and throat will become dry and you get increasingly thirsty.
Initially, dry indoor air is only an annoying irritation, but it can easily become a
serious health risk, the reason being that the average person spends 90%
of his/her life in confined areas. This is why the indoor climate in the office,
at home and in leisure time is important for health, physical fitness and well being.
The humidity measuring device, the hygrometer, can reliably show this too.

Humidification - an important factor of quality in industrial production, storing and sales!
Paper, cardboard, wood, leather, tobacco, textiles, food and other semi-finished and finished products are all hygroscopic to a certain extent - they interact with air humidity. They assimilate or dispense humidity from the surrounding air. This continues until a balance is reached.
Quality and manufacturability of the products depend to a high degree on humidity.
